Product review: nakd Cocoa Mint

As with the Cocoa Orange before it, I was fully expecting some kind of better quality After-Eight mint, the tour-de-force in the chocolate/mint confectionary market. And again, as with the Orange flavour bar before it, the cocoa is very strong. So much so, it’s overpowering the mint somewhat. I was most surprised by that as mint can be quite pervasive but even that strongest of herbs can’t break the bitter cocoa wall. The mint flavour was nice, what I could taste of it that is and definitely needed either more herbage or less cocoa. The texture, *unlike* most of the others in the nakd range is ‘hardish’. I prefer the softer ones.

I think I’ve been disappointed the most with this mint one from the nakd range of all-goodness, not-cooked, cold-pressed snack bars. I know it’s not fair to compare but After Eight can rest easy as this is no more than a pretender to the throne. Oh ambassador, you … erm … are … ahem … what’s these? … you sir, are an affront to diplomatic gatherings and polite society, and I slap you with my silken chevalier.
